Ruth began coaching for Gold Star in the spring of 2006, working for two years and then returned in 2016. Ruth grew up in gymnastics and cheer, competing through Level 6 as an artistic gymnast and then cheering for both a local club and Gold Star throughout middle school and high school. During this time, Ruth traveled several times to Florida to compete for GSG at Nationals. She earned her Bachelors from San Diego State in Psychology and LGBT Studies, her Masters from Santa Clara University in Marriage and Family Therapy, and is CPR, First Aid, and USA Gymnastics Safety certified. She currently works as a children’s mental health therapist, but still hears the siren call from the gymnastics floor, and so finds time two nights a week to share her expertise and enthusiasm with our senior cheer teams.
