Laura started at Gold Star in the winter of 2006 with five years of experience coaching toddlers through PreTeam gymnasts both at our gym (for a short while a number of years ago) and at one of those other local clubs. Laura began gymnastics at the age of seven and since then has not strayed far from a gym. As a gymnast she trained through optional levels, competing qualifying to Zones and States at the compulsory levels. She has her U.S.A. Gymnastics Safety Certification, is CPR and First Aid certified, and also received Hands-On Teaching Training for Preschool Gymnastics. Her Associates Degree is in General Science and she graduated magna cum laude with her Bachelors from San Jose State in Child and Adolescent Development. Although Laura juggles several jobs throughout the week she has always returned to gymnastics – her first love. She is currently our Floor Coordinator on Saturdays, mentoring and training our staff and helping with everything from Band-Aids to Bridges on the gym floor. She knows the sport inside and out, and is comfortable working with students of all ages and levels, but most importantly is goofy and filled with fun. Her unyielding excitement makes us extremely pleased she stays with us.
