Pam is the owner of Gold Star Gymnastics. She began gymnastics classes at Gym West (formerly located in Palo Alto) when she was 6, progressing through to optional levels of competition. She started coaching gymnastics in high school, and replaced beam work-outs with dance classes. Since this time Pam has coached across the country taking on a different facet of the sport in each gym – teaching preschool through Level 9 gymnasts, boys and girls, including winning the Texas State Championship for Class 7 Boys 8-9 year olds in 1997. Pam has her U.S.A. Gymnastics Safety Certification, C.P.R and First Aid Certifications, and has completed her Kinder Accreditation Training for preschool gymnastics, Hands-On Training for Preschool and Recreational Gymnastics. She has a B.A. in Psychology from Carleton College in Minnesota, her Masters of Fine Arts in Dance from U.C. Irvine (her thesis involved implementing a dance and gymnastics program for children with Down’s Syndrome), and a Ph.D. in Dance from Texas Woman’s University. Her dissertation research took her into the public schools where she taught dance at McKinley Middle School in Redwood City for two years and at Sequoia High School for two years. Pam has lectured and presented workshops at several Regional and National dance and gymnastics conventions, and was named as a National Instructor for USA Gymnastics in 2014. She balances owning and managing Gold Star with her husband with raising her two fantastic children (one who now coaches for GSG!).
